Canadian Airports Council Announces New Board Leadership and ACI-NA Board Appointments

OTTAWA – January 8, 2025 The Canadian Airports Council (CAC) is pleased to announce its newly elected Board of Directors, as well as the appointment of several Canadian airport leaders to the Board of Directors of Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA).

Johanne Gallant, President and CEO of the Fredericton International Airport Authority, has been elected Chair. Nick Hays, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Airport Authority, has been elected Vice Chair.

Additional elections include Myron Keehn, President and CEO of Edmonton Airports, who has become Chair of the Large Airports Caucus, and James Bogusz, President and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority, who has been elected to the CAC Board and named Chair of the Small Airports Caucus.

Elizabeth Brown, President and CEO of Victoria International Airport Authority, and Tammy Priddle, President and CEO of Deer Lake Regional Airport, were also elected to serve as Directors on the Board of the CAC.

“I look forward to working with colleagues from airports of all sizes to advance policies that strengthen connectivity, economic growth, sustainability, and the long-term success of Canada’s aviation sector,” said Johanne Gallant.

Monette Pasher, President of the Canadian Airports Council, congratulated the newly elected leadership and thanked those concluding their terms. “I would like to congratulate Johanne, Nick, and all of the newly elected leaders,” said Pasher. “This group reflects the strength and diversity of Canada’s airport network. I would also like to sincerely thank the Directors who are rolling off, particularly Tamara Vrooman for her leadership and contributions during her tenure. Her dedication and insight have helped advance CAC’s policy work during a pivotal time for our industry.”

In addition to their roles within CAC, several Canadian airport leaders were appointed to the Board of Directors of Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA). Canadian members joining the ACI-NA Board include Nick Hays, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Airport Authority; R.J. Steenstra, President and CEO of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport; and Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO of Vancouver International Airport. Chris Thureau, Director of Terminal Operations at the Vancouver Airport Authority, was also selected to serve as a Young Professional non-voting member of the ACI-NA Board.

These appointments reflect the breadth and diversity of Canada’s airport network and reinforce CAC’s policy positions and advocacy efforts with the federal government and key stakeholders.
