September 23rd, 2024

Ottawa, ON,

The Canadian Airports Council (CAC) is proud to announce plans for the upcoming 2024 Canadian Airports Safety Week, taking place from September 23rd to 27th. This annual event underscores the unwavering commitment of Canada’s airports to fostering a safe and secure environment for both passengers and employees.

Safety First at Canada’s Airports

Canadian Airports Safety Week serves as a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing among participating airports across the country. Through peer learning, best practices, and engaging activities, the CAC aims to continuously elevate safety standards within the aviation ecosystem.

2024 Theme: Safety Culture

This year’s Canadian Airports Safety Week will focus on Safety Culture within the airport ecosystem. This theme reflects the importance of fostering a culture where safety – of workers, passengers, and the environment – is paramount.

“As we celebrate Canadian Safety Week, we are reminded of our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across our airports. This annual event provides an essential opportunity for us to reflect on our collective achievements and reaffirm our dedication to protecting passengers, employees, and the communities we serve”, said Monette Pasher, President of the Canadian Airports Council.

In addition to the central theme, the week will include activities and discussions that promote excellence in the following areas:

  • Worker Safety
  • Security Safety
  • Hazard Reporting
  • Environmental Safety
